About Hey Gworl™
Helping Girls and Women Walk in Purpose
Our Mission
Hey Gworl™ promotes mental wellness through educational and supportive experiences that encourage participants to better understand themselves, their emotions, relationships, and personal wellbeing. Our programs provide opportunities for reflection, learning, and conversations that can support greater self-awareness.
We recognize that every person’s journey is different. Through trauma-informed programming and connections to appropriate community resources, participants can access information and support that encourages healthy growth while helping them identify positive ways to navigate challenges and move forward.
Our Vision
Hey Gworl envisions a Milwaukee where every young person shaped by trauma — whether from the foster care system or elsewhere — has a chosen community offering coordinated support, real resources, and genuine belief in their own potential, empowering them to build a thriving, self-determined life, regardless of whether existing family support is available.
Hey Gworl Nonprofit is Creating Space to Heal, Grow, and Thrive.
Hey Gworl™ is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to supporting children, teens, young adults, and adult women impacted by foster care, adoption, kinship care, non-biological caregiving arrangements, and trauma. Through culturally responsive and trauma-informed programs, we create opportunities for participants to build confidence, strengthen healthy relationships, develop practical life skills, and gain a deeper understanding of their wellbeing and potential.
We believe every girl and woman deserves to feel seen, valued, and equipped for what comes next. Through mentoring, education, family support, and community connection, Hey Gworl™ helps create meaningful pathways toward healing, stability, and purpose.
Our Values
- Partnership — We build our work through genuine partnerships with families, community organizations, and systems that share our commitment to young people.
- Respect — We meet every person where they are, honoring their circumstances and choices without judgment.
- Integrity — We are honest and accountable stewards of every resource entrusted to us.
- Diversity — We build a team and an approach that reflects the full diversity of the community we serve.
- Excellence — We hold ourselves to real, measurable standards — not just good intentions — because the young people we serve deserve nothing less.
